Our Mission

Our mission is to build a community of resourceful Africans
dedicated to collaborative learning leading to job and wealth
creation.
“Fostering the learning of technology, business and life skills to
Empower Africans through collaborative learning and community
building.”

Our vision

Uplifthub envisions itself to be a Pan African organization that
nurtures the spirit of innovation and creativity towards building a
knowledge-based society.

Our Core Values

In carrying out our mission, Uplift Hub embraces the following core values,

These values run deep through our individual actions and organizational culture.

Continuous Learning

We believe learning is fundamental to human flourishing, and strive to support educational opportunities on every front, both with the programs we create and in how we create them.

Inclusion

Inclusion is about people gaining“social acceptance”, having positive interactions with one another and being valued for who they are. As such, it must be “internally motivated” and stem from embracing the belief that all people have value and the right to belong. Inclusion as our value and our way of thinking requires something more, it’s about equal opportunity for one and all.

Ubuntu

Ubuntu is an African Nguni word meaning humanity to others and has a correlated meaning of ‘I am who I am because of others’. Ubuntu is the ability to be human and value the good of the community above self-interest

Community

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Important problems cannot be solved by a knight in shining armor made of silver bullets, but instead, require a community of diverse voices and skills collaborating and supporting one another. Just as the programs we
create are only ever part of the solution to global inequality of educational access and achievement,we are made stronger by our partnerships and collaborations, and our efforts are magnified.

Creativity & Fun

Why creativity? The world is changing at a fantastic speed. The future requires people who can problem-solve, adapt and communicate in workplaces and environments that are increasingly complex. Creativity creates jobs, drives economic growth and provides answers to societal needs. and it also maximizes human potential. Why Fun? We want people to enjoy learning essential skills and to have fun. It is important to remain sane in the fast-paced world we live and work in. We don’t believe fun at work takes away from productivity, we believe it increases it. When you enjoy the people you work with and the environment you work in, it’s much easier to focusyour passion toward building solutions to solve global problems.

Curiosity & Innovation

Why Curiosity? Curiosity means the desire to constantly question concepts and processes to improve. We aspire to be curious in the work that we do, and to inspire curiosity about effective
learning in others.
Why Innovation? Innovation motivates action to take risks, encourage curiosity and new ideas, learn from mistakes, and constantly strive to exceed expectations. Through innovation, we generate solutions for our community and raise the bar both within our organization and throughout communities around Africa.”
